Privacy Policy

Your phone number, name, username, birthday, photo if you add one, the interests and answers you give when you sign up, what is on your list, your plans and messages, availability settings, and basic app usage. If you choose: your approximate area, a school or work email, and your contacts’ phone numbers.

We use your birthday to confirm you are 18 or older and to match you with people around your age. Others never see your birthday or exact age: matching only uses an age group. Your interests and sign-up answers are used only to match you and are never shown on your profile.

If you connect your contacts, we turn each phone number into a scrambled code on our server and keep only that code, to find people you both know. We never show your contacts to anyone or message them. You can disconnect them any time in Settings.

To match you with the people you choose (contacts, people you both know, your university or company, people nearby), show options near you, sort the plans you add into categories (the title is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, for this), run plans and chat, keep the community safe, and improve the app.

People you can be matched with see your name, photo, username, your list and the plans you add (their title and photo), and can message you. You choose who that is in Settings, and it only works if they allow it too. One-to-one chats are visible only to the two of you, and plan chats only to people in the plan. We never show your phone number, email or location.

To suggest things that fit where you live, we count how many people within about 50 km have each activity on their list (only numbers of 3 or more, never who), and we look up what your area has nearby (coast, lakes, snow, hot springs) on OpenStreetMap using a square of about 25 km, never your exact location.

When you open an activity link, the partner (for example Viator) receives that visit. We do not sell your personal data.

Change who can see you in Settings. Delete your account in Settings to erase your data.

upforplans.app does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and does not collect personal data. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security.

Some links to activities are affiliate links. When you open one, the partner (for example Viator) may set its own cookies to credit us for a booking, under its own privacy policy.
